1. A month or so ago, someone set a few off. Sadly, they are no longer illegal in this state- anyone can purchase them and blow their own hands off or set fire to the neighborhood.

2. Hibernating. Fireworks and I do not get along. It has not been pleasant around here this summer (first summer they were not illegal for the general public to purchase) and although I would be prepared for it... you can't always prepare yourself. I'll be staying home, trying to keep myself and my dog calm. I foresee a ton of xanax headed my way tomorrow. Focusing on Merlin, and trying to keep him calm will help too. Gives me something to focus on. Will be grilling during the day though and probably break out To Try Men's Souls by Forstchen and Gingrich (say what you want about the man politically, he is an excellent novelist- if only that had been his only career path) and begin reading- typically I read the second book Valley Forge first.

3. I do enjoy deviled eggs- without any mayo- I use a combination of several mustards and minced garlic to mix the yolk in. I am also far more liberal with the paprika than most appreciate.

If you haven't already, try a Thundershirt for the dog. Chilled out my nutjob during storms over the weekend. As for you, well, I feel your pain (most fireworks are illegal here, but not in the neighboring states, so the idjits have already started.)

1. About a month ago, during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. I doubt I'll see more than the odd one again until the run-up to Guy Fawkes Night (5 Nov) and then there'll be another lull until the New Year celebrations.

2. Drudgery, mostly. The weather forecast is (yet again) terrible, so I may not even be able to go for my accustomed walk in the evening.

3. They're okay, but I don't have strong feelings. They're not that common in the UK anyway: Scotch eggs tend to take their place.

1) Last 4th of July from our attic window. We were happy that this new house provided a distant but good view so that our tiny 6 month old babies could sleep in their cribs while we enjoyed the show!

2) Making a red-white-blue cake with The Godfather's little girls, having a nice breakfast, playing in the newly fenced yard with the kiddie pools and sprinklers. Having a gathering and cooking out. You know. The holiday. ;)

3) Allergic to eggs! But they smell intriguing.

2: We're going to the local college where an orchestra will be playing while they shoot off fireworks and there's going to be cookout. It should be fun albeit hot.

2. As little as possible, but plans do include retouching my hair color, soaking my feet to do a home pedicure, and organizing my new clothes into the closet.

Lunch with the family--the WHOLE family that is here--er, most of them--LOL! My parents, my bro and his wife, my niece and her shit face boyfriend and HER two daughters. Too many people!!! I will escape with Blue to my room after we eat. ;-)

When was the last time you saw fireworks?

For the Jubilee

2. What are you doing tomorrow?

Um - Thursday - well, will it rain again?

3. Do you like Deviled Eggs?

Is that the same thing as curried eggs? If so, yes - but the curry must be made from scratch, not form commercial powder

I saw a few over the treetops last night as I drove home from karate. I'll see the big town display Sunday.

Tomorrow (Friday) I'll be doing stuff around home until it's time to go assist at the dojo for two hours.

I LOVE deviled eggs. Unfortunately, I popped an egg allergy in my mid-twenties, and now cannot eat them. I yearn, though, oh yes I do.
