I do know what the "Knocker up of work people" job is. That's someone who's paid to knock on door & windows to wake up people who didn't have alarm clocks, so they would be up on time for work.
A knocker-up is a very well-known job, I'm not sure how that confused the London Genealogical Society. It was a person armed with a long pole who went from house to house, knocking on bedroom windows to tell people that it was time to get up for work. It was a very important job in north with all the mill towns. There's some pictures of knockers-up here.
I wonder if random waller is a misspelling of wallah, that's a Hindi word for a person who has a particular job, such as chaiwallah - a person who serves tea, or a punkawallah - a person who operates a fan (punkah). It came into British usage via India.
