Yes. Don't compost, admittedly. Although our city does do bioenergy production with sewage sludge from the garbage disposals.
Yes. My dad and brother take real good care of them. I had two in early middle school and was too grossed out to take them out when they died and my parents were checked out at the time so they rotted in the bottom of the tank for a while. Gross.

3. Oh god, yes. Please, may all the children frigging grow up so that I don't have to remember to feed any more fish. It's been something like 15 straight YEARS of trying to remember to feed fish that the kids like for 20 minutes...

3. My first fish was named Sir One Eyed Bandit the Slot Machine Fish. I don't know how old he was. The apartment manager where I lived gave him to me when one of the tenets had left him and his tank in their unit when they moved out. He looked ill, and only had one eye. I cleaned his tank and took care of him. He lived another two years.

3) I grew up always having both coldwater and tropical tanks and am in the process of getting all the bits together to set up another tropical aquarium. I'm going to keep a betta and some ram cichlids. :)
